At Self Made Education, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. Our goal is to cultivate curious, creative, and reflective learners who continue asking questions, exploring new ideas, and contributing to their communities throughout their lives. We measure success not only by what students know, but by their confidence to keep learning long after the course has ended.

Our classrooms become studios, workshops, newsrooms, libraries, and community spaces where learning is active, hands on, and culturally responsive.
Students publish, research, and exhibit. By learning with and from their communities, they discover that the world itself is a classroom, and that meaningful learning grows through connection, curiosity, and contribution.

Students discover art history by creating alongside the artists they study. Through studio projects, historical inquiry, reflective writing, critique, and portfolio development, students investigate how art reflects culture, identity, and change. The semester concludes with a public gallery exhibition.

ONLINE
Storycraft Studio is a project-based creative writing course where students develop their voice through storytelling, reflection, collaboration, and publication. Rather than completing isolated writing assignments, students become authors, exploring fiction, poetry, memoir, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction while participating in a supportive writing community.
Through mentor texts, writing workshops, peer critique, and guided revision, students learn to transform ideas into meaningful stories. The semester culminates in the publication of a collaborative anthology celebrating each student's unique voice and creative growth.
Students become the newsroom through interviewing, research, writing, photography, audio storytelling, design, editing, and publication. The class collaborates to produce a final community publication or media project that culminates in a public launch event.

Ray Grace is an educator, artist, librarian, and doctoral researcher specializing in experiential learning and the humanities. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science and has taught English Language Arts, visual art, and interdisciplinary humanities. Her courses combine literature, history, writing, and art to help students think critically, create confidently, and connect their learning to the world around them.
